Welcome to our Library!
This webpage displays better and is more user friendly on a laptop. If using an iPad or handheld device, you may need to hunt around to find the tabs/buttons. Look for the 3 stacked horizontal lines in the top left or right corner of your screen, then locate any drop-down arrows.
Not sure which books are checked out under your account (or your child's)? Check your library account from the quick link below or from the "students" tab above.

Students are welcome to borrow books after school in addition to their classroom scheduled book exchange times. No Librarian is on duty on Monday/Tuesday |
Borrowing Limits:
K-1: Usually 2 books at the start of the year, then more if the kids want more
Grades 2 & up: 4 or more books depending on borrowing habits/overdues & any project needs, phased in from the beginning of the year. There's not a specific cap.
Overdues: Usually a student can still borrow at least a book or two if they have overdues that haven't gone on too too long.

Loan Periods:
In most cases, books can be borrowed for 2 weeks, except for some popular titles.
If students need more time, they can renew the book(s) in person.
For grades K-3, I strongly
encourage them to return/exchange their books
on a weekly basis to maintain a consistent routine.
Also, K-3 are to return books prior to Winter Break and Spring Break (Gr4-7 can keep books over the breaks).

Book Returns:
Students can return books to the library Monday-Friday, anytime during school hours, they don’t need to wait until their scheduled book exchange time. Intermediates are encouraged to return their books as soon as they're finished with them to enable quicker turnover of popular titles.
They can come in & quickly drop off their books but cannot hangout in the library unsupervised.

Book Care
The kindergarten and grade 1’s are encouraged to use their book bags if one was issued to them by their classroom teacher.
Other students are encouraged to keep a large, sturdy, clean, dry plastic bag in their backpack so they can transport their books to & from school while keeping the books away from snacks, rain, and spilled liquids.
During orientation, students are taught to be responsible for the books they borrow under their name, and for keeping the books in good condition.
To avoid lost book mix-ups, students shouldn’t be trading checked-out books with each other. They should come to the library together with their friend and I can assign the book to the new borrower.
Please don't attempt book repairs at home. Despite best intentions, it becomes impossible to fix a book once household tape/scotch tape is used on it. Books are best repaired using specialized tape and equipment at the library's disposal.
If parents have questions or concerns about lost or missing books, or have any other library related questions, please contact me at the school phone number Wed-Fri. I’m happy to hear from parents and usually any mix-ups are sorted out quickly and amicably.
